Like all other entertainers and performers, Covid-19 stopped Tom Wenlock’s career in his tracks and instantly emptied his diary of gigs. Tom is well known and loved as a singer and entertainer in the West Midlands where he spends some time visiting vulnerable people in care homes and other venues and serenading them.
Tom said ‘ When I realised I was going to be unable to perform, I had to find something else to do which would allow me to pay the bills. I had huge respect for the carers I saw when I visited Care Homes and wondered if that was something I could do. I found a job working in the community as a domiciliary care worker and I found I’m not only good at it but I love it!’ Tom Wenlock aka Paul Roberts, is working for Supreme Home Care visiting frail older people and adults with disabilities in the own homes (and singing to them a bit from behind has mask!).
Amy Hutchings the Registered Manager for Supreme Home Care commented ‘Tom has been a really good addition to our Care Team, his communication skills have really come to the fore and he has quickly become a favourite for many of our clients.’
Tom said ‘No the lock-down is easing, I’m looking forward to getting back to performing, but I’m going to continue to work in the community for Supreme Home Care as I’ve found a second vocation that I am really enjoying’.
